How rockwool leads to a sustainable planting mode

Soil protect

Soil provides living space and important eco system for human, it can store and filter water, intercept pollutants from penetrating into groundwater; but more importantly, soil is a non renewable resource, which is very difficult to repair once it get polluted. In the brief of national soil pollution survey published in 2014, the point exceeding standard rates of eight inorganic pollutants of heavy metals cadmium, mercury, arsenic, copper, lead, chromium, zinc and nickel were 7.0%, 1.6%, 2.7%, 2.1%, 1.5%, 1.1%, 0.9% and 4.8% respectively. In traditional soil planting, there is a large amount of pesticides and fertilizer applying to the plants, which destroys the soil structure and ecological balance, kills the organic organisms in the soil. Those lead to the imbalance and loss of organic matter.

Greengrowmaster® rock wool is the represent of new soilless cultivation mode. It does not need to worry about soil salinization, hardening or borne diseases etc. It helps to solve the continuous cropping obstacles and protect soil resources from the origin. If soilless cultivation technology is used for plant cultivation, it can not only reduce its burden on the soil, but also give it an effective period for self recovery.

Few impact on natural ecological environment

Greengrowmaster® Rock wool raw material is rock, and the exploit amount is very small relative to the storage amount. Through changing the appearance, the rock can give full play to the characteristics of soil. Rock wool is just another form of rock and can be reused continuously. If mixed with soil, it can also improve some soil characteristics. By mixing with clay it can improve soil aeration, mixing with sandy soil can improve soil water retention.

Food Safety

The remaining of pesticide harmful substances and heavy metal that assembled in the plants can enter the food chain to pose a threat to human health.

Greengrowmaster® rock wool substrates come from natural rocks. The production process goes through a high temperature of 1500 ℃, so it does not carry pathogenic bacteria, and the substrates is cleaner. There is no need to disinfect or sterilize the substrates before use.

Greengrowmaster® rock wool substrates are tested to be free of toxic and harmful heavy metals containing such as mercury, arsenic, lead and cadmium. In the whole planting process there will have zero harmful substances.

Greengrowmaster® provides a pollution-free root environment for the production of pollution-free green plants to ensuring food safety.

100% recyclable rock wool

Greengrowmaster® Rock wool can be recycled. Used Greengrowmaster® rock wool can be recycled back to the production lines. After separating and melting with other raw materials. Those used products can be made into new rock wool. The products that made of recycled materials have no quality difference from the new ones, and can be re-applied to thermal insulation, fire prevention and noise reduction in the fields of construction, industry and ships.

100% water and fertilizer recovery

In the return liquid of water and fertilizer, there are still a large number of ionized mineral elements that have not been absorbed by the plant. These elements are discharged into the natural environment and become an important pollution source to affect soil and water. Long time ago, developed countries already have paid attention to the pollution impact of water and fertilizer discharge on the environment and take it as the main problem to work with, so they use rock wool as the main substrates because it has less circulating irrigation and less discharge.

By using Greengrowmaster® Rock wool, the return liquid can be clearer. And the excess water and fertilizer will flow into the diversion tank and return to the irrigation system. After disinfection, it can be 100% recycled, which can not only avoid the waste of water and fertilizer, but also avoid environmental pollution due to informal discharge, especially stop the causing and aggravating the eutrophication of water.
